APICS becomes ASCM — Association for Supply Chain Management

APICS is a non-prof­it asso­ci­a­tion, the lead­ing source of knowl­edge in end-to-end Sup­ply Chain Man­age­ment.

With 45,000 mem­bers world­wide, its cer­ti­fi­ca­tion cours­es cov­er all oper­a­tions: from the sup­pli­er’s sup­pli­ers to the cus­tomer’s clients.

APICS cer­ti­fi­ca­tion pro­grams are the inter­na­tion­al stan­dard. They val­i­date the skills of pro­fes­sion­als in Sup­ply Chain Man­age­ment oper­a­tions man­age­ment, pro­duc­tion and inven­to­ry management.

In addi­tion, its pro­grams are designed by pro­fes­sion­als and are aimed at pro­fes­sion­als. They are based on inter­na­tion­al best prac­tices and are applic­a­ble to all types of com­pa­nies and indus­tries and all sizes. Final­ly, they are updat­ed every year.

APICS has cre­at­ed a new struc­ture in 2019: the ASCM- Asso­ci­a­tion for Sup­ply Chain Management.

ASCM pro­vides online train­ing and tools to assess the matu­ri­ty of logis­tics processes.

The asso­ci­a­tion wants to be a vec­tor of inno­va­tion in the field by propos­ing new ser­vices or prod­ucts and partnerships.

The goal of the ASCM

ASCM encour­ages man­u­fac­tur­ers to opti­mize their sup­ply chains, secure their com­pet­i­tive advan­tage, and there­by impact their bot­tom line.

ASCM train­ing cours­es have been expand­ed to meet the chal­lenges and changes:

  • CPIM (Cer­ti­fied in Pro­duc­tion and Inven­to­ry Management),
  • CSCP (Cer­ti­fied Sup­ply Chain Professional),
  • CLTD (Cer­ti­fied in Logistics),
  • Trans­porta­tion and Dis­tri­b­u­tion,
  • SCOR (Sup­ply Chain Oper­a­tions Refence Model)
  • DDMRP with Demand Dri­ven Insti­tute (DDI), …

The French asso­ci­a­tion Aslog, already a part­ner of APICS, is nat­u­ral­ly part of the new ecosys­tem, as are the CLFP (Chi­na Fed­er­a­tion of Logis­tics & Pur­chas­ing) and the Amer­i­can Insti­tute of Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence (AIAI).
